Today's trek brought us to the Fed Ex Institute for a few interactive demonstrations.
| Students interacted with a pilot program designed to test the brain's ability to do 2 things at once. |
| The program required students to talk about a given topic while interacting with an animated dog on the screen. This student found this task relatively easy since "talking comes natural and requires little thought." HA! |
| It wasn't as easy as it sounded! |
Next, students got to interact with motion sensors. These sensors allowed hand movements to control a piano and a theremin. Students tried to sync up! It was quite entertaining.
| Here's what the screen image looked like! |
Next Mr. Andrew showed us some of his robots!
| Meet this humanoid. He responds to auditory and visual input. Here it is replicating claps. |
| He also danced, walked, and could even lay down. |
| Mr. Andrew also had a sphere that could be controlled with electrical signals in the brain. |
| The ball would move when the brain was quiet. |
| Next we loaded up on the Blue Line and trekked to south campus! |
Here we are at the Billy J. Murphey Athletic Complex. Home of the Tiger football training facilities.
| We began with an inspirational video in the team meeting room. |
| Locker Room |
